Our History
On 23 June 1948, the Ministry of Light Industry of the People's Republic of Slovenia issued a decree to establish Avtoobnova Celje. The company's head office was first in Hudinja, Celje.
In 1954 the company moved to new business premises in Medlog near Celje. In 1963 the company extended its object of business to wholesale and retail trade in cars and spare parts and started building the premises at Ipavčeva ulica in Celje. The company has conducted its business from there ever since.
In 1974 the company opened its first shop in Celje and extended its object of business to retail sales of automotive spare parts and accessories. In the same year, the company also acquired shops in Žalec, Velenje, Šentjur pri Celju, and later in Ravne na Koroškem.
Already from the start, the company's vision focused on sustained economic growth, steady increase in number of employees and acquisition of new premises. Over the years, the facilities have grown from 1800 square metres to 45000 square metres, and the company has invested in employee training heavily. At first, in-house mentors assisted the trainees in gaining skills, and most of the training courses were organised after work. The company's vision has remained very much the same. It will be pursued in the future as well.
